The Ancestral Amulet
An amulet of protection drawn from my family’s preserved craft. Made to stand as a shield against malice and bodily harm. Limited to 13 pieces.
This amulet carries one of the most valued pieces of my family’s magical knowledge, preserved through my great-aunt Marija and my aunt Vera. It is made for protection — not as a metaphor, but as a charged presence that holds its ground.
The work behind it has been long in the making. Gathering the necessary ingredients was no small feat: some are nearly impossible to obtain today, and it took considerable effort to bring them together. While not all of them can be revealed, certain key elements can be named: wax from ritually used candles made by local beekeepers; Black Hawthorn (Crataegus nigra) hand-picked in Serbia by my mother; and Royal Hojari Frankincense from Oman, of the highest grade. Alongside these, other ingredients were included whose rarity makes them difficult to obtain, to the point that I cannot say whether I will ever again have the chance to assemble them for another series of amulets.
The ingredients are not simply mixed — they are sealed in a ball of wax, which acts as the vessel. Wax binds, protects, and preserves what it encloses, ensuring that the work is both contained and enduring. Each amulet is then placed in a red dupion silk pouch, sewn by me with care. The choice of red is deliberate: in Balkan folk traditions, red is the color of protection, used to ward off harm and avert malice. In this way, the amulet remains housed and carried with the same intention it was made.
These thirteen amulets were fixed under the New Moon in Virgo and released at the eclipse in Pisces. Their timing is now enclosed within them — they carry it forward.
The power of the amulet was confirmed by the cards themselves: Magician, Sun, Empress. Strongly charged magic, under the guidance of the matriarch — creation, illumination, and authority bound together in one.
This is not a mass-produced object, but a continuation of a lineage. The amulet is rooted in a family current of practice that has withstood time, and through it, the protective force is transmitted with clarity and strength.
Only 13 protection amulets are released, prepared as a dedicated series. Each carries the same charge, anchored in the same ritual act, and meant to serve as a steadfast companion to its bearer.
